About the Artwork

Deep Water looks straight down on a wave breaking onto sand. The navy fades to near-black at the top edge, deep enough that you can't tell where water ends and depth begins, then breaks white and rough where it meets the shore. The texture at the waterline is gritty, the way wet foam actually looks when it pulls back off a beach. Below it, more real sand is worked into the canvas itself, with a single line of footprints pressed into it, walking out of frame.
